Mr. Ahmad Shafi Maqsood, Founder and Executive Director of the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW), breathed his last on December 29, 2009. Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Rajiun.("Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return";Surah Al-Baqarah, ayah 158).
He establised the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) in February 2003. With profound passion, dedication and relentless effort he transformed the Institute from its humble beginning into a research think tank committed to peace and human development.
With the overarching aim to disseminate the teachings of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW), he initiated and guided the Institute's researches and advocacy works on interfaith dialogues for religious tolerance, human rights including rights of disabled persons, Islamic Finace and Zakat-based poverty eradication, environmental governance and sustainable development. Through these activities, he modernized the concept of peaceful settlement, thereby leading the Institute towards services for humanity.
His exemplary personality and dynamism continues to be a beacon of guidance, inspiration and blessings in moving forward the endeavors of the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) towards establishment of social and economic justice.
May his blessed soul be in peace.
