SUMMER SCHOOL ON HUMAN RIGHTS 2018 (JULY 1-5, 2018, BANGLADESH)

 

The Summer School will act as a platform for delegates from various countries to come forward and learn about protection and enforcement of Human Rights in their respective countries. The content for the school is developed by experts of Human Rights and the content has been developed keeping in mind the needs and circumstances of different countries. The delegates will also get a opportunity to discuss the situation prevailling in their country and can at the same time suggest the appropriate solution to others.

 

About the organisers

 

Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW): The Institute of Hazrat Mohammad SAW is a research and advocacy think tank committed to peace and human development. Key focus areas of the Institute is human rights including rights of persons with disability, women empowerment and social justice. The Institute possesses over 15 years experience in working on human rights and women empowerment.  It is accredited as a civil society at the World Bank and a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, the largest global sustainability initiative based on the Doctrine of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

 

Knowledge Steez:It is an organisation which has been actively involved in Human Rights campaigns in India as well as in some other countries like Nepal, Turkey, Romania, Nigeria etc. Apart from conducting legal awareness workshops, conferences, social awareness campaigns, We are aloso doing some research projects on Human Rights. Our team comprises of experts is Human Rights who have the exposure of conditions prevalling in various countries and they will be the trainers for the Summer School.

 

Introduction to Human Rights and Course Overview

This module provides with the overview of core concepts of Human Rights. It then moves onto covering various issues in the contemporary global human rights agenda, such as migration, terrorism, anti-corruption, intellectual property, the environment, and the rights of women and children.

Other Instructions

Accommodation will not be provided to all the participants. Only those who opt for accommodation will be provided accommodation.

The organisers will only provide a letter for VISA purposes. Apart from this, the organisers will not take any responsibility for VISA of the participant.

Accommodation will be provided on twin sharing basis.

The registration fee will not include transportation(local/international)

It is advisable for the participants to have a health insurance policy.

-Delegates from Bangladesh: 10,000 Taka

-Delegates from Bangladesh (with accommodation): 15,000 Taka

-International Delegates (without accommodation): 15,000 Taka

-International Delegates (with accommodation): 20,000 Taka

After assement of all the forms received, the selected participants will be sent a mail regarding payment details and other important information.

Essay Competition for the Visually Impaired on occasion of Holy Rabiul Awwal & in Solidarity with the UN International Day of Persons with Disability 2017

On occasion of the Holy Month of Rabiul Awwal, the Institute is organizing an essay competition to showcase the talents of the visually impaired. This event further expresses the Institute's solidarity with the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

 

Title : "Transformation towards sustainable and resilient society for all"

Date : Saturday, December 2, 2017 Time : 10:00AM to 12:00PM

Venue : Lakeshore Hotel, House 46, Road 41, Gulshan 2, Dhaka 1212

 

The UN theme focuses on bringing transformative changes in human settlements that reduces vulnerability and leaves no one behind. In keeping with this, the essay competition shall examine Prophet Mohammad SAW's teachings on human settlements and reducing vulnerability through knowledge and technology. It aims to raise awareness on UN goals among the visually impaired and inspire their contributions.

Training courses for the visually inpaired persons:

 

Call Center Agents Training for Visually Impaired Persons

GET TRAINED, GET EMPLOYED

• Course for visually impaired persons who are interested work as Call Center Agents. 

• After successful completion there is opportunity for Employment.  

• Limited Seats. Those interested for Employment will be given priority.

• Course Period 2 Months; 2 Days a week. 

 

Beginers Computer and English Language Training

• Learn to operate a Computer (with voice recognition software) & speak English. 

• Increase your skills for better opportunity for employment.

•2 Months Course. 2 Days a week

 

Arabic and Holy Quran Recitation Training By Braille

• Learn to read Arabic and recite Holy Quran through Braille system.

• 2 Months Course. 2 Days a Week

 

Advanced It and English Language Training 

Those who completed Beginners Computer and English Language Training can join the Advanced IT and English Language Course or the Call Center Agent Course.

Training on IT, English and Outbound Call Centre

From January 2017 the Institute is introducing a new training program on outbound call centre and telesales for the visually impaired to enable them to apply for call centre and telemarketing jobs.
