Description

On the auspicious occasion of Eid-E-Miladun-Nabi the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) organized an essay competition for visually impaired students from schools, colleges and universities throughout the country. The competition aimed to generate awareness and understanding among its participants on Prophet Hazrat Mohammad SAW as Peace & Blessings for Humanity. The competition culminated with a prize distribution ceremony on the 12th of Rabiul Awal (February 16, 2011) to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Eid-E-Miladun-Nabi. Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Chairman, National Human Rights Commission, H.E. Ahmed A. H. Eliman, Ambassador of the Great Socialist Peoples’ Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, H. E. Zet Mirzal Zainuddin, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. W. A. Sarath K. Weragoda, High Commissioner of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, H.E., Mr . Afzaal Mahmood, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan, Major Gen. (Retd.) M Firdaus Mian, Chairman, Bangladesh Institute for International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and Mr. Hasan M. Mazumdar, Country Representative, The Asia Foundation were among the distinguished speakers. The event commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran and its translation by Mr. Khairul Azam, Project Coordinator and Teacher of the Institute’s Program for Visually Impaired, followed by Naat-e-Rasool rendition from Ms. Tahmina Shahid, Ms. Ananya Sharmin, Mr. Ali Hossain and Mr. Abdur Rahim. The winners of the competition were Rina Aktar, Muradnogor Government Blind School, Chittagong, Jannatul Firdous, Muradnogor Government Blind School , Chittagong, Shariful Islam Sohag, Government Blind school, Khulna and Yasmin Aktar, ABC Complex, Gazipur in Group A (Class I-V)). Md. Rubel Miah, Brahman Baria High School, Miftahul Jannat, ABC Complex, Gazipur, Zahidul Islam Barkat, Brahman Baria high school and Mir Azizul Haque Apan, Brahman Baria high school won in Group B (Class VI-X). The winners of Group C (College & University) were Mahmuda Khatun, Chittagong University, Masuda Aktar Mukta, Chittagong University, Jahanara Dewan, Dhaka University and Shahida Afroz Mim, Dhaka University. The vote of thanks was given by the President of the Institute Lt. General (Retd) M. Nooruddin Khan who congratulated the visually impaired students for their sincere efforts. The evening program concluded by distribution of prizes that were sponsored by Sony Rangs Ltd. The select gathering was participated by eminent personalities from foreign missions, the government and various other disciplines.
